-The IT group at Royal Caribbean have such poor performance and business status in the company because each department in the IT did its thing and didn't want any envolvement in the others and it was emotionless, beaten-down group.

2. What are the top three factors in Tom Murphy's turnaround of the IT function at Royal Caribbean? Explain the reasons for your choices.


- The top three factors in Tom Murphy's turnaround of the IT function at Royal Caribbean are their STATUS- because the IT function at Royal Caribbean have such poor performance. TEAMWORK- the IT didn't want envolvement in the others they just do things on their own. SYSTEMS- because their systems are not that ok.

3. Visit the website of Royal Caribbean. Evaluate the effectiveness of the website and the services being offered to attract and serve the travel needs of customers and prospective customers. What could be improved? Outline the business impact of your idea.

- I think the Royal Caribbean must improve their website, they should make it more attractive so that their customers will be attracted and eager to enter their site and put a customer support area where the customers can put their comments,suggestions and questions.

- The IT supports the business goals of BellSouth by following the money, in other words at the corporate level, their revenue strategy is to broadband- enable the customers in the wireline business and get into long distance.It gave new subscribers the ability to use BellSouth's website to order and even self-install the software they would need to get up and running on the new ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line)"FastAccess" high-speed internet service.

2. Is BellSouth's technology transfer map a good way to determine IT investment priorities? Why or Why not?

- Yes, because the road map identifies and prioritizes "Leverageable" systems-defined as those that the business need to run and enhance their revenue generating operation, and therefore for highest priority for IT development."Nonleverageable" systems, by contrast, are more traditional "legacy" systems earmarked for retirement in the near future.

3. What else could Bell-South do to guarantee the strategic business value of potential IT investment projects? visit their website for ideas. Defend your proposals.

- The Bell-South should Raise IT up to a senior level so they can understand the business impact of their technologies.
